Suppression Windows

Silence alerts during planned maintenance.

Overview

Suppression windows let you silence alerts during planned maintenance or known downtime periods. This prevents alert fatigue and unnecessary escalations.

Creating a Suppression Window

  1. Navigate to Alerts > Suppression
  2. Click Create Window
  3. Configure:
    • Name — Description of the maintenance
    • Start time — When to begin suppression
    • End time — When to end suppression
    • Services — Which services to suppress (or all)
    • Severity — Which severity levels to suppress

Recurring Windows

Set up recurring suppression for regular maintenance:

  • Daily (e.g., nightly batch jobs)
  • Weekly (e.g., deployment windows)
  • Custom cron schedule

Active Suppression Indicator

When a suppression window is active, the dashboard shows a visual indicator so your team knows alerts are being held.

Suppressed Alert History

Suppressed alerts are still recorded — they just don't trigger notifications. You can review suppressed alerts in the alert history for audit purposes.
